Mozilla und Skype unterstützen die EFF

Apple hat vor ein paar Tagen den Jailbreak als illegal erklärt (wir berichteten), nun unterstützt Mozilla und Skype die EFF, die den Jailbreak legalisieren will.

Mozilla (die Firma, welche u.a. den Browser Firefox entwickelt hat) sagt, dass das hacken von iPhones legal werden muss. Zitat von John Lilly, CEO  von Mozilla:

“This is not us criticizing Apple, but it’s the principle of the thing. Choice is good for users, and choice shouldn’t be criminalized. The Internet is too important for all of us for that.”

Auch Skype unterstützt die EFF, da sie der Ansicht sind, dass man VoIP nicht nur über Wifi erlauben soll:

“Copyright law should not interfere with a user using his or her phone to run Skype and enjoy the benefits of low- or no-cost long-distance and international calling.”
